The focus at Intercity Heating and Cooling for complete customer satisfaction on every job means we believe in offering products that we know will give our customers the performance and reliability we require. See below for information about the different HVAC products we carry.

Air Conditioner

HVAC systems typically have an indoor and outdoor unit that work together which is called a split system. An air conditioner is an outdoor unit, and it sends cooled air to the indoor unit for circulation through your home. When properely matched with the indoor unit, you get maximum efficiency and longer system life. Air conditioning and cooling efficiency is measured using a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER). A higher SEER means higher energy efficiency.

Heat Pump

A heat pump is an electric unit that is able to both heat and cool your home. As with air conditioning, heat pumps work in a split system design (instead of an air conditioning unit) to keep your home comfortable all year long. For climates where winter temperatures stay around 40 degrees, a heat pump is typically more efficient than a gas furnace. Heat pumps can also be used in hybrid system installations for maximum efficiency. Heat pumps efficiency levels are measured in Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) for cooling and Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) for heating.

A furnace is the indoor unit of a split system setup. Furnaces come typically as gas, electric or oil powered and provide warm air in the winter. Furnace heating ability is measured with an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) percentage. Remember, a higher AFUE percentage indicates a more efficient furnace.

Whole Home Humidifier

Fan Powered Humidifiers are independent units that add moisture directly into your ductwork with their own fans while a Bypass Humidifier works with your furnace to deliver moisture throughout your home. A whole home humidifier saves energy in dry winter months because a house feels warmer with the right humidity level. Proper humidity also helps protect wooden furniture and flooring.

UV Lamp

You can protect your home and your family from allergy-causing mold with UV air purifiers / UV Lamps. These ultraviolet air treatment systems kill mold that would grow in the cool, damp interiors of your air conditioning system. They use the same technology that's long been used by water treatment facilities and is now adapted for safe and efficient home air purification.

UV air purifiers are mounted in the duct work just outside your HVAC system and work with air cleaners, ventilators and filters to keep your family healthy.

Ventilators are part of indoor air quality solutions and replace a portion of stale indoor air with fresh outdoor air, reducing energy loss in the process. Air exchangers for instance, let users manually or automatically adjust the fresh air flow. The units retain energy used to heat or cool, saving money on utility bills.
